Nebraska City Council works on COVID-19 legal protections

NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. - As Congress and some state legislatures have looked into passing laws regarding the legal risk of COVID-19, Nebraska City has gone ahead and implemented one.

The city council passed a resolution at its latest meeting that will help protect the city from legal liability if residents contract the virus at the newly-reopened city recreation spots.

Interim City Administrator Marty Stovall told KXCV/KRNW that the players and coaches will be required to sign release forms before using the fields.

Stovall adds that the city will post signage at the fields to make visitors aware of the risk of contracting COVID-19.
